Ashok video
The new Ashok music video is excellent, can’t wait for them to post it online for all to see! In the meantime here’s a clip from the short set they played last night. (Excuse the bad sound, there wasn’t a desk recording made so it’s straight off my camera).
SOCPA movie screening
socpa – the movie is an important new film about the ‘serious organised crime and police act’ which requires notice of any demonstration within 1km of parliament, and allows the police to impose conditions, either before or on the day of the demo.
It’s a really good documentary; shot and edited to a high standard and with enough humour and music to stop it becoming dry. There’s a free/donations screening tomorrow:
friday 11th jan 9pm
synergy centre, 220 farmers road, camberwell, se5 (map)
the film lasts 60 mins followed by q&a up to an hour
Here’s the trailer:
Bogus Gasman live in Brixton
Three tracks from Bogus Gasman at the last ever Stuff & Things. Excuse the video quality, half the lighting rig wasn’t working so I’ve had to brighten these up a lot!
Two more if you read on…

Queens English live, Brixton (video)
Queens English played a great set at the Jamm on Monday, here’s a track from their set. I shot this on a Nikon pocket digital camera – technology is getting crazy! It’s only missing a line-input (sound is from a minidisk desk recording). More video to come, and hopefully an MP3 of the full set.
Update: more video added and there’s some photos here:

An Unsettling Story
A lot of you will have seen the graffiti artwork of Scab on the walls, shops and vehicles around SE London. Above is his piece on Rubbish & Nasty’s shopfront in New Cross. He also made this short graphic story, which I’ve animated and set to music:

Artwork and Story: Scab
Animation and Edit: Mike Cupcake
Music: “Funnybones & Lazylegs” by Xploding Plastix
One Year of Hat Sundays
We made this at the bar this evening and then realised that Hat Sundays are one week off being a year old! Birthday fun all round on the 5th August. Be there.
