FAMILY BATTLE SNAKE
Striving for that late night monster psych jive…Heavy telepathetic improvisations, dipped in a hazy psychedelic mayhem, from lulling numbness to fierce noise outbreaks.

LADYSCRAPER
Both brutal and good-natured, dark yet optimistic. It’s a new sort of super-dark sound with a silver lining. We’re pleased as hell with it!!

JOHN WALL
His working process is to reconfigure some of the more abrasive shards of modern classical music. He splices them hard up against an explosive soundbite from metalers Carcass or free-improv from the Derek Bailey school of thought, often parallel mixing these sample arrangements against improvisations record from instrumentalists in his studio.

Scaredycats - kitty ska

 scaredycats-pooltable.jpg

The Scaredycats played {needleandthread} at Brixton Jamm last Friday, they were (and I’m assuming still are) amazing! Jumparound ska in fine form. I’ll be hassling them for some tracks to post up here.

They’re playing a free gig at the New Cross Inn on Wednesday, here’s the flyer:

Musical Squats

band in a wooden tent (by mike cupcake)

I finally made it to Auto Italia on Queen’s Road last week for a “we’re about to be evicted” party. Rox blew us away with a amazing performance, Monsieur Hovis provided excellent spoken word, there was a forest of christmas trees in the entrance and a weird wooden-framed tent that just about fitted a band + a few audience. Also had to love the car shell with Mario Kart installed. A shame they’ve lost such a good space, I hope the new location on Old Kent Road works out well for them.

Tonight, Ashok are premiering their first music video at the Spike. I’m excited, it’s been far too long since I’ve seen them play.
