London and Brighton squatted pub on Queens Road, get down there from 2am(ish) for a ska punk afterparty, folks will be rolling in from the Birds Nest in Deptford. Word is it’s £3 on the door.

Just over a year ago I greatly enjoyed the last of Auto Italia’s events at their squatted venue on Queens Road, now they’ve moved near Old Kent Road and are plotting a 2 day music and art extravaganza along with the folks from Upset The Rhythm.
EDIT: Turns out that while Auto Italia did use the space on Queens Road, the event I went to was run by other folks after they’d left. No less reason to go this weekend though!
YES WAY
A two day celebration of the UK’s art & music undergroundSaturday 28 & Sunday 29 March
Auto Italia, 1 Glengall Road, Peckham, SE15 6NJ | MapOver the course of the weekend, 34 acts from all over the country will be performing, from noon until midnight each day, alongside the multimedia work of 14 artists.
There’ll also be a temporary DIY supermarket and no end of food and drink from independent, local producers.

Recently I’ve dusted off my minidisk recorder, which led to inventing the revolutionary HatMic system (patent pending). Here’s the spoils:
Ska night at the Victoria pub, Deptford, 7th March 2009:
So the sound quality is a little ropey, but note that for Los Albertos I was in the middle of a 30 person-strong ska mosh pit! Think of it like this: each audio drop-out = another bruise to my body :-)
Thanks to everyone at the Victoria, definitely one of the best squatted venues I’ve been to. Really sad to hear this was one of your last gigs before eviction.
Next step: stick some foam round the mic to lessen distortion.
