Summer mashup silliness,  and it’s allowed ‘cus it’s my birthday!

It’s been a while since I’ve joined Lottie Child in climbing adventures on the streets of London, so it’s great to hear she’s planning an outing right here in SE15:

How street savvy are you? You’ve got your A to Z to get from A to B but how happy and safe do you feel on the streets? In today’s cities, we are all too aware of the potential hazards on the street. Perhaps it is time that we learnt how to safely enjoy, rather than endure, the time we spend in public space.

Peckham Street Training is an intergenerational art project, inviting people of all ages to engage creatively with public space and share alternative instructions for exploring the urban environment. Free public tours around Peckham have been developed by families from Peckham in collaboration with artist Lottie Child and net art organisation Furtherfield.org.

On Saturday 20th September at 2pm & 4pm, Peckham Street Training invites the wider public to discover the favourite places of local children and their parents from Gloucester Primary School. Exploring how behaviour can shape the built environment, share in new techniques that will challenge conventional uses of public space and social norms. Defining new territory both on the street and on the internet- Peckham Street Training can be followed online on www.peckhamspace.com/project

Clare Cumberlidge from The General Public Agency will be in conversation with Lottie Child and Furtherfield.org. The talk will include a presentation by the artists and a conversation on the notion of participation in the public realm and contemporary art.

Hey Hey Hey

 Hatsunday is reaching the grand old age of 2 on Sunday.  I know..hasn’t time flown for the little guy..

To honour this occassion there will be a early start for hatsunday this week at around 4pm-5pm,

 So if you have never been to hatsunday before now is the perfect time…bring yourselves, your friends, your hats… 

 After  some quick negotiation Happy hour’s 2-4-1 cocktails this sunday will be back to 2 hours so between 6pm & 8pm just for this!!  so theres a another incentive to come down even if hats weren’t enough for you!!!

Now I know these are listed on the Regular Events page, but here’s a reminder.

Free entry, live music, spoken word and friendly crowds – hosted by the indeterminable Mr Hovis. On Tuesday evening get yourself to the Half Moon pub in Herne Hill (great pizza), and on Wednesday drop by the Redstar in Camberwell (2-for-1 cocktails).
