The Nouvelle Croix Quartet hail from New Cross and formed earlier this year. Their sound is 1930s Parisian gypsy swing, greatly influenced by guitarist Django Reinhardt. I’ve seen them at Cafe Cairo, Brixton Jamm and even had them play in my living room! Check out a couple of tracks here:

All quiet on the Gastern front? Why not so, Sir/Madame!
Been missing the Gastafarian funky train? (Yes, that’s right, I did just write that!) Well good news for you, debonair musical gourmand! The Gasmagical variety funtime half hour is rolling into a town near YOU! That is if YOU live in BRIXTON or NEW CROSS!!! Perhaps the most shambolically entertaining band hailing from Lewisham and the surrounding areas is rounding off the year with a couple of gigs. The first is on Sunday the 17 th of December at the Jamm, Brixton for FREE, at an evening resplendent with cracking DJs, a birthday party for our gracious host Mr. Hovis and cheap drinks for anyone needing any extra incentive, ya swarthy lushes!
We follow that with a Christmas party of BIBLICAL proportions.
On Wednesday the 19th we take to the stage of the newly refurbished Amersham Arms, New Cross, alongside our sometimes allies, sometimes rivals and giants of Rock and Roll, the stupendous Honeycube! There will be Christmas covers! Booze! Merriment! Perhaps even the long awaited release of our 3-track single, which is so sexy IT GOT US BANNED FROM THE STREETS OF LONDON BY WESTMINSTER COUNCIL (kind of)!!! A fun evening is yours for the taking!
But how much for an event of such pure, unbridled joy? With a flyer entry is just four of your English groats. A snip! A snap! A steal! You’ll be there? Fantastic!
